Letter to Editor
I am a medical oncologist. I am an associate professor in the Division of Medical Oncology,
Hematology and Infectious Diseases at Fukuoka University Hospital. I have performed basic and
clinical research in diverse fields: such as breast, colorectal, pancreatic cancers and hematologic
malignancies. My research goals are to contribute to the fight against recalcitrant cancer by
developing translational research that can be developed into newer, safer, and more effective
therapies for cancer.
I graduated from Fukuoka University, School of Medicine in 1994 and trained in General
Surgery, Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at affiliated hospital. In 2003, I obtained a Ph.D. degree
in molecular cell biology from the Fukuoka University, Graduate School of Medicine. My postdoctoral
research was establishment of monoclonal antibodies and development of viral vectors for
cancer therapy at Sapporo Medical University. I received incitement award of the Japan Society for
Moleculer Tumor Marker Reseach in 2006.
