Abstract:
Low grade osteosarcoma of the facial bone is an exceedingly rare pathology in the pediatric population. To our knowledge, this is the first case report of a 7-year-old girl with low grade osteosarcoma of zygomatic and orbital bones. Low grade osteosarcoma is unfamiliar to clinicians, radiologists, and pathologists. Radiological diagnosis is challenging, and low-grade osteosarcoma typically simulates benign bone disease but with some aggressive features. However, if it is properly diagnosed, there is a high chance of a cure with wide excision alone. Positive immunostaining for MDM2 may be used as a diagnostic adjunct, although negative immunostaining cannot rule out this tumor. The clinical, radiological, and typical pathological findings are vital in raising the suspicion of this rare tumor. To our records; the current case report is the first case report of Low-grade osteosarcoma of zygomatic and orbital bones in 7 years old girl.
